Doug started racing in 1998, after completing a three day Skip Barber training course. He received his National license in the middle of ‘98, and his pro license in ’99. Doug prefers the Star Mazda series because it is a spec. series, allowing only minor changes to the cars. This makes the experience more of a true driver’s race, rather then a spending contest. Doug constantly pushes the limits of his car. This causes him to crash far more than the average driver, but it also allows him to progress faster; he won his first national race in 2000.
